Xchanging Boat Race 2011

The XChanging Boat Race 2011

Oxford were victorious in a surprising win over Cambridge in the 157th Boat Race. Held on Saturday 26th March, The XChanging Boat Race is watched across the world by millions and watched live by over 250,000 lining the river banks.

Cambridge were favourites going in to the race and maybe this pressure got to them as Oxford won comfortably. There was also success for Oxford's reserve team, Isis who won over Goldie, Cambridge's reserve team.

Matthew Pincent umpired the Goldie and Isis boat race and was backing Cambridge to win the main race. Dan Snow was backing Oxford who won in 17 minutes 37 seconds.

Oxford had a relatively novice team with only one returning blue from last year. This did not prove a hinderance and they rowed the Surrey side, which has been the victorious side of the river 76 times.
