Sandpolo are delighted to announce that the British Beach Polo Championships 2011 will be held at Sandbanks Beach, Poole, UK on 8/9th July 2011. Six top class polo teams will compete for the title that is currently held by the Moore Capital Polo Team. The formidable England Team has been challenged by Argentina, Australia and the USA in the 2 game International Test that is the finale of each day’s play. The chosen challenging country will be announced in April. The ever popular International Volleyball will also return to Sandbanks for the event.
Britain's premier beach location plays host to Polo's finest in a festival of sport and music. The Beach Polo at Sandbanks provides a unique opportunity for friends and families to let their hair down and enjoy this spectacular sporting event in a fun but sophisticated environment. Businesses also see it as an excellent way of improving their brand awareness, sell and promote their product or services, and entertain clients and staff. The high profile sport of Polo played on an infamous public beach has proved to be a powerful and intriguing formula for all to enjoy.
- Teams of the most talented polo players will compete for the Championship title with an International Polo finale on each day.
- The Oakley Professional Beach Volleyball provides a good sporting balance to the Polo.
- The 4x4 V Polo Pony Charity Race is a popular feature and raises money and awareness for a National and Local Charity.
- Other sporting and social activities are to be enjoyed with sumptuous refreshments throughout the day whilst guests take in this exciting and glamorous spectacle, both on and off the pitch.
- The renowned Beach After-Party allows Players, Celebrities and Supporters to dance, relax and socialise until the small hours of the morning.

Polo played in an enclosed arena has been referred to as 'Ice Hockey on Horse Back'. Spectators are close to the action – they can fully appreciate the horsemanship, speed and gladiatorial nature of Polo. The polo ponies love the sand - they can accelerate and stop fast and can turn extremely sharply. The thrill and excitement of horses galloping on the sand with the English Channel as a backdrop, whilst sipping champagne amongst glamorous company, is a vision to remember – an intoxicating mix. Polo players engage with the sponsors and spectators both on and off the pitch.
After the success of last year's volleyball exhibition Top UK Volley players will again lock horns to compete in the Men's and Mixed Titles. With Team Bath athletes from GB and England competing we can expect to see the highest level of competition in the main beach arena during the afternoon on both days of the event.
Party Time
Throughout the day there is a cool but fun atmosphere created by top DJs and live entertainment but for those who want to continue into the night the Polo has become renowned for the most incredible Beach Polo After-Parties. A masterful mix of music and lighting in and around the Beach marquees provides the perfect setting for a memorable evening.
The Beach Polo will be supporting The Heaton Ellis Trust and Julia’s House. Donations at anytime will be greatly received or wait for the charity race on both days of the event to contribute.

Sandbanks is probably the most exclusive beach community in the UK. The infamous Peninsular extends out across Poole Harbour on the scenic Dorset coast.
